I thought blogging them would hold me accountable, but you know what? It really doesn't.
This year, rather than making a grand list of things for the entire year {which is kind of crazy, right? who knows where you will be in six months...} I am going to make a little list three of monthly goals.
Nothing big, just little things I want to do or at least make a conscious effort do do more. Hopefully by making small-ish goals, I will be able to follow through and make something happen.
1. Eat more plants.
In my normal life, I tend to eat mostly fruits, veggies, and beans but over the holidays, I let myself go cray-zay. I consumed enough meat, fried food, sugar, and all other good things like the world was ending. Since we have been back, my eating is slowly getting back on track and I want to make an extra effort to eat a diet focused more on plants and less on sweet animals {even though they taste oh so delicious :)}.
2. Three a day.
If you have been reading this blog or following me on instagram, you will know that I have two sweet dogs. I walk these crazy pups about two miles a day. I don't know what is normal, but it seems like more than enough for Gordita. She is older and a mile at a time is about her limit. Finn, on the other hand, is a working dog and I believe he could walk 200 miles a day.
Finn needs a third walk. I did this in the summer when it stayed light until 9pm, but since winter has hit, I have become lazy. Some nights I feel like he is suffocating. I owe him a third walk each evening. I also got him a new backpack which supposedly will make him work harder on each walk. Do any of you have working dogs in a city? What do you do to make them burn off all that energy?
3. Buy less junk.
Yesterday I went to Target and the sale section was full from the holiday aftermath. I spent way too much time at the end of every aisle, picking through the marked down items. Before I knew it, I had a dog towel, dog bowl, striped top, lotion, and fancy soap in my cart.
I have a closet full of cute dog bowls, a million old towels I use for my dogs, way too many clothes, and so many products I can barely find room in the bathroom.
Basically, I didn't need any of that stuff. I put it all back and wrote down what I saved {didn't spend} in a notebook. At the end of every month I am going to tally up this amount and either reward myself with something really special or put the amount into savings {saving money is another goal :)}.
It's really hard to take stuff out of my cart. Especially at Target when the item has that fun little red, marked down price tag on it.
Do you have any goals or resolutions for 2013? Or are you a non-believer in New Year's resolutions?

Great resolutions!!! That darn sale section at Target gets me evey single time!!!! Garbage!!!!! And of course the walking and plants is wonderful:)
