a castle

Since going to Ireland is a trip home for my husband we tend to spend more time with friends and family than sight-seeing.  Each time we are there, we try to do a few "touristy" things.  A lot of stuff Neil hasn't seen since he was in school {or ever} so it is just as fun for him as it is for me.  

This past trip we decided to stop at Bunratty Castle during our drive from Galway {where we were visiting friends} back to Kerry.

I love touring old homes and castles.  It is so fun to imagine what life was like years and years ago and to think about all the people who inhabited those rooms.  Remnants of their daily lives and thoughts and spirits are stuck to the place and I cannot help but daydream about what it was like to be there.  I will never tire of anything "old" :).
